TACT is a research project at King's College London.
We are making new technology to help people communicate.
We work with people who have aphasia. Aphasia makes it hard to speak and understand words. It often happens after a stroke.
We also work with children who find talking difficult.
Most technology is made for people who can read and type easily.
Many people communicate in other ways. They use gestures, drawing, pointing, and facial expressions.
Current technology does not support this well.
We are building new tools together with the people who will use them.
We listen to what people need. Then we design and test new ideas.
Everything we make will be free for everyone to use.
Tim Neate leads the project. He is at King's College London.
Maddy Cruice is a speech and language expert at City St George's.
Filip and Wenqi are researchers on the team.
